Mikes 1000Sf Basement: Unconventional Waterproofing

In this location, the water table is quite high.. I mean really high.. The home owner had window well’s that weren’t draining for weeks on end, but a foundation that didn’t appear to be leaking.  The solution here was to Hydrovac the window wells out, auger underneath the foundation, and plumb to the existing weeper system on the home’s interior.   Unconventional? Oh ya.. but back in the 1950’s, weepers consisted of  Clay pipe, no filter cloth, and very minimal gravel.  They were also commonly used to control ground water only, rather than the exterior hydraulic pressure that landlords with finished basements understand all to well.  In short.. We fix.
